Body Art Designs and Tools for Every Fun Occasion

Creating colorful body art designs is great fun for a variety of occasions whether they are music festivals, parties, vacations or just fun girlie nights in with your friends. If you love to experiment with body art and make up and love to stand out from the crowd then there are plenty of tools and designs that you can use to make your own or use other fantastic designs.

Henna Tattoos

Most vacation destinations will have an abundance of henna tattoo stalls and parlors everywhere where you can get any kind of henna tattoo. Henna tattoos are a traditional Pakistani form of body art and they have been around for thousands of years and it uses a dark paste to temporarily dye the skin. They can last between 1 and 3 weeks and it is said that lemon juice helps them last longer. Find pictures of henna patterns and try outing small flower patterns with a homemade or storing bought paste to begin with, and then move onto more intricate patterns when you have had time to practice. Henna tattoos can be applied to arms, hands, feet, legs and shoulders but if you have to return to work or school it is best to have it in a place which is hidden.

Glitter Tattoos

The great thing about glitter tattoos is that they can be as small or as big as you like but they will still stand out when the light catches them at the right angle. This type of body art is meant to be seen and is meant to be worn on exposed skin – not only so people can see it but also so that it doesn’t catch on clothing and potentially get rubbed off. Using stencils or free hand drawing, you can use temporary tattoos and then add glitter for an ultra sparkly effect.

Think about what you are going to be wearing when you make the tattoo. For example having a glitter pattern on your shoulder but then wearing long sleeves defeats the point of doing it; there is no point creating an awesome piece of body art if you can’t show it off!

Tattoo Kits

For a combination of all tattoo styles and tools you can get temporary glitter tattoo kits here for you or your friends. These are really fun to play around with and come with many colored pens, lots of different colors of glitter and fun stencils so that you can go body art crazy!

Transfers

A great option for small children, temporary transfers are easy to put on and just as easy to take off. Usually coming in packs of various themes, you can choose a transfer that you want and also where you want it. The sheets of tattoos might have snakes, butterflies, flowers, sea creatures, bird or a variety of other patterns for you to choose from.

To transfer it onto your skin, all you need to do is choose where you want it to go and then clean that area of skin. Peel off the plastic layer and place the transfer face down on the skin. Place a damp cloth on the back of it for 1 minute. Take the cloth away and then slowly peel back the transfer paper and allow the tattoo to dry. This is a great option for people that are thinking about getting tattoos but are unsure – transfers can last a few days in which time you can decide whether the design or even if having a permanent tattoo would be right for you.

Tattoo Stencils

Tattoo stencils are great inventions for people that love body art but lack the artistic ability to draw a tattoo on themselves freehand. Stencils are usually basic shapes and can be bought on their own or in a kit. All you need is a tattoo ink pen and a stencil shape that you are happy with. Choose a body part to apply the temporary tattoo to and then place the stencil in that place and fill in the gaps in the stencil with the pen. You can add glitter to it as well using body adhesive – just keep the stencil in the same place so that it doesn’t get everywhere!
